The Parents of Southeast
Our parents are truly special! We could not survive without our wonderful "parent partners" in education. We believe that schooling should be a team effort, and we are blessed by parents who support our teachers and programs here at Southeast. We strive to provide a welcoming atmosphere where parents contribute to our success.

What If I Can’t Volunteer?
Parent Council
Parents have the opportunity to be involved through the Parent Council as well as through our Volunteer program. The Parent Council meets monthly to give insight and information to the administrative team, and to help direct strategic efforts to improve and develop the school. The Parent Council also holds 3 large meetings a year in the evening to ensure inclusion of all families, and to allow for invaluable parent input.
Membership is automatic for all parents, but participation in this volunteer group varies from year to year, and represents a wide range of parental viewpoints and interests. Annual activities for the Parent Council include Southeast social functions and fundraisers. This group is also used as a sounding board for tuition management, faculty recruitment, curriculum strategies, marketing, security, financial assistance plans, capital campaigns, and building plans. Officers are generally chosen because of demonstrated interest in supporting the school's mission, a willingness to work toward improving the school, and an ability to consider the needs of the broader parent community.
School and PC sponsored events are highly attended and parents are very supportive and involved. Over 90% of families meet the required 40 hours of school volunteer service required by the Volunteer program.
Volunteering
Our volunteer program is critical to the school program. Volunteers work daily in a variety of capacities alongside teaching staff. Southeast families serve the school by accompanying field trips, assisting with bulletin boards, grading, lunchroom duty, facility maintenance, drama productions, and more!
For complete details on the 40 hours of required service, please see the "Volunteer Service Agreement" in the enrollment packet, or see the handbook.
Southeast Christian School greatly depends upon parent and community volunteers to enhance and facilitate your child's education. Please prayerfully consider volunteering for several of the activities listed under Service Listings. Some of them are a one shot deal with a small commitment of time, and others are ongoing. You decide where you have a gift, aptitude, or are simply available to serve. We know you'll be blessed as you contribute to God's work in our educational missionary outreach to your child and those in our community.
To get started, contact Kelly Gates (gatorgates4@msn.com). For complete details on the 40 hours of required service, please see the "Volunteer Service Agreement" in the enrollment packet, or see the volunteer section of the handbook.

What if I can't volunteer?
Southeast understands that life has its challenges. Still, by looking at the opportunities listed, we are confident that some contribution can be made by all families. Still, exemptions are possible. Families who can't volunteer can pay the $350 service fee.
Approximately each quarter you will receive updates on hours served. Hours will be credited on a monthly or quarterly basis, after service is completed and verified, not at the time of sign up.
